Co-Founder and Instructor
Dr. Matthew Grubb, PT, DPT, MS, FAAOMPT, ATC, CSCS is the co-founder of Upskill Clinical Education and a former associate professor of practice in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. With over 20 years of clinical practice experience specializing in orthopedics and neuromuscular dysfunction, Matt has developed a comprehensive approach to patient care that draws from a diverse range of professional influences.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2000) and a Master of Science in Human Performance and Sport Studies (2001) from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Matt became a certified athletic trainer (ATC) in 2001 and a certified strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS) in 2006. He then obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in 2011. In 2015, Matt became a credentialed Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT) and holds post-graduate credentials in dry needling and spinal manipulative therapy. Dr. Grubb’s commitment to lifelong learning has enriched his teaching and clinical practice, which he now brings to Upskill Clinical Education, aiming to empower participants through hands-on learning experiences.

Co-Founder and InstructorDr. Rachel Grubb, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT is the co-founder of Upskill Clinical Education. She brings over 15 years of experience as a rehabilitation professional and an educator to her role as instructor and developer for Upskill. With a profound understanding of clinical practice focusing on outpatient orthopedics, Rachel has dedicated her career to providing patient-centered care and equipping the professionals in her field.
Rachel earned her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Science (2008) and her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree (2010) from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She completed a post-graduate fellowship through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2015, further enhancing her expertise in manual therapy and clinical reasoning.
As a smaller-size practitioner, she brings a unique perspective to Upskill, employing adaptive techniques that enable therapists of any stature to deliver effective care, even when working with a larger patient population.
As the current Talent Director for Therapy Partner Solutions, Rachel is passionate about empowering rehabilitation professionals by helping them find ideal work environments and building talent pipelines for current and future opportunities in the field. She supports clinic owners and partnerships by ensuring quality clinicians to help grow practices and improve patient access and outcomes. Additionally, she develops and implements programs that foster professional growth, aligning career progression with personal and professional aspirations.
